$2,000 a month for a private chat app isn't a tip. It's a bill for proof.

If you only use chatbots and you're trying not to fall behind, this is the part most posts hide. I almost scrolled past too, because sponsor pages usually feel like coffee money.

Plot twist ☕: SimpleX's sponsor goal isn't vague at all. The page says $2,000 a month for 10 months to pay for an outside safety check, and 38 sponsors have only moved it to 33%.[S001]

Before, $2,000 sounded like random support money. After I saw the 10-month plan and the 33% progress bar, it felt like a real bill, just split across 38 people. 🔒

And this isn't their first lock check. The project lists outside audits in 2022 and 2024, with another review scheduled for June 2026.[S002]

The thing is, a post is only worth your time if it changes your next move. I'd rather see money go to boring proof than one more shiny promise.

I only checked the public sponsor page and security page as they looked on June 28, 2026, so the numbers can move. Would you rather fund one new feature or one outside safety check? Save this and send it to the friend who still thinks sponsor pages are just tips.
