Claude Corps is wild: the expensive part isn't the AI, it's paying 1,000 people $85,000 to sit inside the mess.

If you mostly use Claude like a chat box, it's easy to read every Claude headline as "did it get better for me?" This one made me stop for a different reason.

Plot twist 👀: Anthropic says 1,000 fellows will work full-time, in person, for 1 year, and each one gets an $85,000 salary.[S001] That's not tossing out logins. That's putting a human being inside the building.

The contrast is the whole story 🧠. AP says at least 400 groups also get $10,000 and free Claude usage,[S004] so the small check is the side dish and the person is the expensive part.

Honestly, that hit harder than any score chart. Most groups don't need better chatbot answers first; they need one sharp person to open the messy folders, sit with the forms, and find where 3 hours keep leaking out every week.

Boundary: I'm only going off the June 11, 2026 launch and AP's early report, not results from the first group yet. Save this 📌 if you keep seeing "AI for good" posts, and tell me: would you rather get free AI credits or one capable person in the room for a year?
